Use content in the browser

Use the browser when you need to understand a resource, compare alternatives, follow its relationships, or copy a stable identifier without writing code. Libraries, Search, and HTML content pages are available without a PCA role.

Find and assess the content

  1. Use Find and understand data to locate the content you need.
  2. Open the content page for the relevant item.
  3. Confirm that the item is the correct concept, type, or resource.
  4. Check status, source, mappings, and replacement links.
  5. Copy the resource identifier—not only the browser address—when recording a semantic reference.
  6. If you need the content in another system, continue to the API guides in this section.

Before copying the identifier, decide whether you need one item, a whole collection, or broader ontology context. When software needs the result, continue to Find and retrieve data through the API and Identifiers and representations.
