Accessing content through the UI

This guide is for users who want to consume PCA content interactively through the platform.

When to use this approach

Use the UI-first path if you want to:

  • inspect the content yourself before using it elsewhere
  • compare several candidate items
  • navigate through related content and hierarchy
  • confirm labels, descriptions, and relationships without writing code

Step-by-step

  1. Use PCA Explore to locate the content you need.
  2. Open the content page for the relevant item.
  3. Confirm that the item is the correct concept, type, or resource.
  4. Copy the identifier or keep the page open for reference.
  5. If you need the content in another system, continue to the API guides in this section.

Good practice

  • Use the UI to validate the meaning before you automate retrieval.
  • Check related content if you are working in a complex domain area.
  • Confirm whether you need one item, a whole collection, or a broader ontology context.
